Different styles and fonts in numbered list
I am writing a tutorial on web-page design and I want to create a numbered list of steps the user needs to follow along. In between some of the steps will be text showing what the user needs to type into a text editor.
The numbered list will be in a serif font and the text between the list items will be in a mono-spaced font. I would like to create a style for the mono-spaced text. I have tried to do this but when I apply the style, the style is also applied to the list item immediately preceding the mono-spaced text. How can I apply a style that is not applied to the list item itself? Thanks for your help. |

I am assuming you are writing the directions using Word, not a web page. (Word is not very good for the latter.)
It would help if you could provide a screenshot of what it is you would like your page to look like. Your description is unclear, to me. Please also size your screenshot to not cause horizontal scrolling. How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum. The following is provided as background.
