Cross Reference Find and Replacing Content
Hi,
I´m working with two kinds of numbered lists in Word. The first one is like this: I - this is the first item; II - this is the second item. The second one is like this: a) this is the first item; b) this is the second item. When I insert a cross reference to these itens, the content of the field is like this "I -" or "a)" and I would like to edit it to be like this "I" or "a". I don't want to do it manually, because I would lose the edit if I update the field. Is it possible to "find and replace" a cross reference field content so I can find "-" or ")" and delete then at once in the end? Thanks in advance, Adriano |

There is no built-in way to exclude the separators when you cross-reference a paragraph number, unfortunately.
You can instruct Word to omit text but not separators. For example, if a paragraph number says "Article I," you can reference only the "I."
