Restart Part number back to A for new schedule
I'm hoping someone can help me. I have created a new numbering style called part A and have used the inpartnum field. I can't seem to get the part number to revert back to A when used with a new schedule. I've tried the edit field, start at value, inserted A but it doesn't appear to be working. Can anyone help at all. Thanks Part A field numbering to restart back to A.docx |

You should be using multilevel list numbering set up as described in that link. Set your numbering for level 2 (A B C) to restart upon a change in level 1 (Schedule). Currently, your Schedule is not in the list. There is no need for the inpartnum list.
Read the link and redo your numbering attaching each level to a distinct paragraph style. |

Restart Part number back to A for new schedule
Hi Charles, many thanks for replying. I have now created the correct styles with schedule as level 1, schedule heading as level 2, part 1 as level 3, part 1A as level 4 and part A as level 5. This is all working fine as headings until I cross reference. Our house style is 'part' should be lowercase but when I insert it, it is title case. Is there a way to tell the cross reference to be lowercase for part?

Something along the lines of: { Ref whatever \* Lower }
