Default ctrl PGDN

Thanks to your help I understand why when I hit ctrl pgdn it tells "Word has reached etc" because it is after of having done a search.

So I need to go into ctrl G choose "next page and then the ctrl pn will move me from page to page.

But this is so annoying for me. I do a lot of navigating in this long doc and do a lot of searching and it really bothers me that I don't have a simple keyboard shortcut to advance to the next page. Is there any way I can designate a hotkey to do that?

Thank You

Susan

You can create your own keyboard shortcuts and if you don't want Ctrl+PageDown to do anything other than go to the next page then you should assign that as your preferred shortcut.

File > Options > Customize Ribbon > Keyboard shortcuts [Customize]
Category = All Commands
Command = GoToNextPage
Press New Keyboard Short = Ctrl+PageDown
Save Changes in = Normal.dotm

Personally, I generally don't like to override the default keyboard shortcuts (to avoid getting in to habits that don't work on other machines or ruining shortcuts that other people use) so I go looking for unassigned options. If it were me I would assign this to Ctrl+Shift+PageDown which is available. And while I was at it I would also set the pageup (GoToPreviousPage) to be consistent.

Re Word 2021 (bought version of Office 2021 Professional, not subscription) and Windows 10: same issue. First tried assigning Ctrl-PgDn to "GoToNextPage. Got "This command is not available on this platform." Tried Shift-Ctrl-PgDn. Same. Thoughts. Besides, what happened to the little pop-up thing that used to be on the lower right side of the screen which allowed selection of the BrowseTo object?

OK -- just chatted with Microsoft. Answer: Ctrl-G, Next, Close. Works!

To create a shortcut that moves the insertion point to the next page, assign a shortcut to the built-in NextPage command.

I interpreted your initial message to mean that you wanted to set a shortcut which explicitly moves from one page to the next. I realize now that I was mistaken.

The Browse object has been removed from the user interface, for some reason (only Microsoft will be able to explain, and they probably won't).

Thanks for the follow-up. Perhaps you also posted in the Microsoft Community (which is hosted by Microsoft)?
