Cool Reviewing after date

Hi friends!

As I thought, there is apparently no way to designate text that has been added to doc after a certain date and time.

But maybe someone has an ingenious solution to:

I work all week long on a very long doc. Sometimes editing, rewriting, sometimes adding new content. On Friday morning, a colleague comes over to review and critique together with me new material.

So I want to be able to see exactly what I have changed/ added since his last visit.

There should be a way!

Thanks

Susan

Revision tracking is the most obvious answer.

You can and probably should make backup copies of your document. You can compare one document with another to see what the differences are - these will be shown as tracked revisions too.

Indeed - and very simple to implement, too. Every revision can then be tracked by date & time.

Thank You...

Let me see if I understand this....

I am the ONLY person who touches the doc. (My colleague sits with me, but I do all the editing)

I turn on the beginning of week one "track changes".

Now anything that I add is marked in red, but I can turn off "show markup" so this doesn't annoy me.

I go on doing my stuff in week 1. On Friday my friend comes, and I turn on show markup and see all the changes.

Then I review with him and assuming we agree, I accept the change and that editing is no longer marked (I don't want it showing up at the end of week 2)

and week 2 ditto etc. etc.

Have I gotten this correctly, in your expert opinion?

Thank You

Susan

You could do that, or you could leave 'track changes' on more or less permanently, until all the editing is complete. Every tracked change will record when it was made.
