Question Word 2013 says "file is not available"

Guys, I got brand new problem with Word 2013. Please, consult me if you know what it can be.

I have Office 2013 on the Windows 7 x64 partition. I have not used it there, but now I tried and any time I try to open DOC or DOCX file it says: "The file <name> is not available". It cannot open even files, which were just saved by the same copy of Word. What can it be? How can I fix it?

I have googled the problem already and found very few information. The "solution" with removing three checkboxes in the Trust Center I already tried. Does not helped. Help please!

I suspect you need to re-register Word so the file associations are fixed.

If you open Word first and then in Word choose File > Open can you open the document?

Thanks for the response.

I have just uninstalled and reinstalled it. Nothing have changed.

This is not the association problem, as I may see. If I choose File > Open then I can select file, push "Open" and get "file is not available" message.

I have noticed one more strange thing: if I choose File > New I can get blank document. But if I select any template I still get blank document. Very strange thing.

Are you sure the files are available on your hard drive. You mentioned an x64 partition - is it possible you don't have access to the files themselves?

I can copy and delete them. I checked rights in properties. I can open them for editing in trivial text editors like FAR internal one. So, I have access. And note, that if I create new file and save it, then close Word and try to reopen file, I will get "not available" message immediately. Very weird thing.

Do you have an antivirus product running which could be blocking access to the file?

I found this thread which sounds similar to your issue. The file is not available - Microsoft Community

It's good that you found the issue. Out of interest, what AV product was it and was it a current version?

The same as in the article you found - NOD32. Version 12, if I'm not mistaken.
