How To Copy Header From One Doc To Another?
Hello, I am trying to update my resume by making a copy of my old and creating a new resume with some of my previous skill sets removed. In the new resume, when I removed some of the old skill set, it removes the section in red on page 2 and then page 3 as well which is the last page.
How do I copy this data (I'm guessing it could be a header?) from page 2 of my old resume into my new resume as well as page 3 header (which is the same info, but it just says page 3)? On page 1 of my resume, it does not have this same header info at the top of the page. I am using Office (WORD) 365 btw. Thanks in advance! |

Double click the header area of the document. Set the different first page option and in Page 2 unlink from the previous header. Copy the header content to that header and make sure there is nothing in the first page header..
I say 'in theory' because headers are greyed in the document view and your screen shot suggests yours isn't.

Also, when you paste into the new header, you may have an extra paragraph mark. Delete that.

-Double click the header area of document. Do you mean the original? If yes, then after doing that on page 2, I would then check 'different first page' -Where or how do I unlink Page 2 from the previous header? Again, I'm assuming I'm doing this on page 2 of the original doc? Thanks! |

The first-page header and the primary or odd-page-header are separate bits in your section. They are distinct entities.
You can first create your continuation header (copy it) into the header on a single-page document. Then check the box for different first page and that will disappear. Then create (copy) the first-page header. |

Hello, after looking a little closer at the links and my file, this data is not actually a header. I just used the 'format painter' to copy from the one doc to the other.
Sorry for the confusion. |

Format Painter does not copy content, but formats.

It would be simpler just to send an example (attached). Replace the text with your data and change the heading text and font as required.
