Default Is there any way to increase contrast/blackness of text in MS Word document ?

Hi all,

Is there any way/option to increase a contrast of text and/or make it more intense black in MS Word documents.

I am helping a person with weakened sight to set it up and his complain is that text is sort of grayish.

I've tried regular adjustments in monitor but it is not enough. So that I am wondering if it's possible to do something in MS Word itself?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help

Unless the text is coloured something other than black, what you see on the monitor is what the monitor represents as black. Neither Word nor any other Office application has any control over that.

Have you tried turning on 'Bold' for all text? Or try changing the font to Arial or Arial Black.

I know this is an unusual step to take but it might help in these circumstances.

A better solution would be to zoom in more. That way, there's no messing around with the document and potentially compromising aspects of its layout and/or formatting.

Windows also has in its accessibility features some high-contrast schemes. One of these may or may not be useful.

It's very frustrating. You can increase the intensity of an image in Word (right-clicking "Format Picture"), but I don't know of a way to make text darker.
Here's my somewhat imperfect workaround:
I print out a document, then carefully put the sheet back in the printer and print a 2nd layer of type atop the first. Sometimes it works perfectly & makes a big difference, and other times the registration is way off. TIP: Make the page margins very small, and put the type you're going to layer right at the top of the page, giving it less chance to go askew.
