Default Pasting Word 2003 Document into Gmail Body

Hello, all.
Windows 10 Professional, MS Office 2003 Professional, Opera browser, Gmail.

I urgently need to send several Word 2003 documents embedded in the body of a Gmail message. Attachment isn't an option.

My problem is that every time I do this, whether as a straight 'cut and paste' or saved as HTML and pasted, scattered sentences or paragraphs appear in a different font and/or size than the rest of their neighbours in each document. I've tried Keep Source Formatting and matching the listed Word/Gmail fonts with no success. It's always the same sentences that are affected. It's going to be too much work to amend the email as each document is more than 1500 words long.
Any ideas welcome!

This is hard to diagnose from your brief description. The software for your email package is obviously a key component here. Are you pasting the Word content into a Browser version of gmail - what browser? Have you tried other browsers? Or are you pasting in to an email package that is not browser-based or not Google's gmail site?

I would expect that there is local formatting in the Word document which is causing the shift. If you can select the Word content and press Ctrl-Space and Ctrl-Q to remove all local formatting - does the Word document still look the same? If you then copy that and paste it into your email does the same issue still appear?

Thanks for your reply, Guessed, sorry about my late response.
My browser is Opera. I haven't tried any others.
I tried Ctrl-Space and Ctrl-Q on a copy of a formatted document and it deleted the entire content!
Edit - Clear - Format worked though, and the result pasted into my gmail draft with no problem other than a couple of words disappearing. All font and sizes remained the same.
The problem is that I'm submitting work to a publishing agent and at the bare minimum I need double spacing, italics and paragraph/speech line indents.
I'll experiment some more and report back.
Thanks again.
