I have copied a graph from excel to word and if I change the values of the graph in excel, the graph is automatically adapted in both excel and word. Can the same be done for the color of the bars in the graph. If I change a color of a bar in excel, I want this to change automatically in word is well, this is not happening at the moment, how can this be done?

The colour change works for me but it does depend on the format I choose. When you copy the graph and choose to Paste Special as a link, you will see a choice on which format should be used.

If I choose Microsoft Excel Chart Object - colour changes work
If I choose Microsoft Office Graphic Object - colour changes don't work.

Hi,

If I try to paste the graph as Microsoft Excel Chart-object, I get an error message that there is een problem. If I first select paste link in the paste special menu, I get another type of error message that the data from the (...) link can not be obtained. Any idea what the cause of this is?

Has the Excel workbook been saved? You can't link to it if the file hasn't been saved.

It appears you are using a Mac so I really don't have any ideas on why this is not working for you other than to say that the paste special format choice is important. If that is erroring for you then you might need to find a forum which has more Mac users on it (they are a bit thin on the ground here).

Post back if you find a solution though.
