Default Printing problems

I am having trouble printing my documents since I recently had a Microsoft generated update to Office 365.

The situation is:

If I want to print the whole document, that’s OK.

If I want to print pages 1 – 5, only pages 1 to 4 are printed. Note that in my document page 5 starts a new section.

If I want to print pages 21 – 25 nothing happens. Note that there are no section breaks between pages 21 and 25 but there are section breaks in the first 20 pages.

If I want to print just the current page, that’s OK.

I also noted that when I use the vertical scroll bar to scroll down in my document the page numbers displayed beside the scroll bar do not agree with the actual page number as indicated at the bottom left of the screen. The numbers on the scroll bar appear to be related to pages within a section, not in the whole document. Could this be related to my printing problem, ie if I say I want to print pages 21 – 25 it is somehow relating to the page numbers within sections, not the document?

More importantly, how can I overcome this problem. I am using the latest drivers for my printer.

Thanks in advance

Robert

It's been decades since I ran into this, but I seem to remember there was something tricky about specifying page ranges when the document uses sections. Try this URL, which may be what you need: How can I print a range of pages that spans more than one section of a document

Thank you for the suggestion.

I had tried this but it didn't seem to work. After your post I tried again and found that it "works" but not properly. I specified p1s4-p2s4 in the pages to print section hoping to get the first two pages of Section 4. But it gave me the first two pages of Section 3 instead. So it will probably work if I remember to specify the section before the one I really want.

An alternative work-around which is a bit more effort but seems to work fine is to save my document as a PDF and then print from that. In this way the sections are hidden and don't cause a problem.

Thanks again.

Robert
