Different behavior of Embedded Excel spreadsheet between two machines

I have a word document with an embedded Excel spreadsheet in it. My machine (word 2019) when doubleclicked, it opens it in a new Excel window. A collegue's machine opens it inside Word. It looks like that I can only resize (add rows) when it is inside Word. What controls that difference?
