Default Word 2019 - Cannot Add to Dictionary

Hi There,

Hope everyone is well.

On my word 2019, I realised that I now cannot add words to dictionary?

I checked my custom dictionaries and there are no dictionaries present nor is there an option to add one (greyed out).

I have uploaded the screenshots of these issues.

I tried repairing my office but the issue still remains.

Please help.

From my understanding, a dictionary is specific to each language. Your dialog shows that a dictionary language hasn't been chosen. If you specify a language, does the functionality become available?

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately no. It does not allow me to choose any dictionaries once I select a language, see 1st attached screenshot.

when i select english UK and press okay, i still cannot add words to a dictionary and when i go back to the custom dictionary window, it resets to all languages (2nd screenshot)
