word 2002 hyperlink to a bookmark in the same document.
i have done lots in this document but i need to add 2 more.
nothing seems to work!
Yes i have added bookmarks but the hyperlink page does not see any bookmarks.
I selected place in this document but clicking the bookmarks text only shows target frame which is for webpages i think

Your problem is you named all your bookmarks so they start with an underscore. This tells Word that the bookmark is 'Hidden'.

If you named those bookmarks with a different prefix (eg x2000) then it would be straightforward.

These sorts of issues can be circumvented by using vba to create the hyperlinks (or by batch renaming your bookmarks) but the GUI stumbles with odd rules for hidden bookmarks.

I just named them as the year no underscore
looks like that is how they are shown in word


OOPS yes i was offerred hidden and did not notice!
x2019 work great

Yes, another of the obscure rules is that a bookmark name can't start with a number which is why you couldn't just name them as 2019 without an acceptable starting character.

If you didn't want to rename all your bookmarks, you can also add a hyperlink by choosing "Existing File or Web Page" and typing in the address so it says
#_2019
