Auto numbering of custom text

I would like to use similar functionality for auto numbering which is used for 'Captions'

It should be like:

Topic 1
Topic 2
Topic 3

How do I create this functionality for custom text ?

At the end I want to add a summary of all Topics just like you can do with captions.
