Is there a way to only highlight 3 or 4-letter abbreviations in Word?
I use MS Office 2016. I trade stocks and I belong to a chatroom that records people's chats in Word document. I was wondering if I could highlight all the 3 or 4 letter stock symbols which are usually like ex) ABC or ABCD. Thank you. |

Use a wildcard search and replace:
Find: [A-Z]{3,4} Leave the Replace box empty but put your cursor in there and choose Format > Highlight This replace all will highlight all the instances with the last chosen highlight colour. Note that if your highlight colour is showing 'no highlight' then you won't see anything happen so you should highlight something so Word remembers the colour before you do the search and replace.

I would suggest searching for
<[A-Z]{3,4}> or you will get parts of words highlighted.
