Hanging indent fixed at .25"

Hi. I work with several tables, about 100 of them. I modified Style1 to a numbered paragraph like this: Left indent -.03" Hanging indent .25"
When I create another table, I apply Style 1. I'm puzzled that when I start the numbering at 1, Word changes the hanging indent to .28" but the -.03" left indent remains intact. So I tediously keep changing the .28" to .25".
How do I stop Word from changing the hanging indent?
