Hanging indent fixed at .25"
Hi. I work with several tables, about 100 of them. I modified Style1 to a numbered paragraph like this: Left indent -.03" Hanging indent .25"
When I create another table, I apply Style 1. I'm puzzled that when I start the numbering at 1, Word changes the hanging indent to .28" but the -.03" left indent remains intact. So I tediously keep changing the .28" to .25". How do I stop Word from changing the hanging indent? Thank you. |

Hi Marcia, the indents for numbering should be set using the Define Multilevel List dialog. You may be able to do it in the numbering dialog as well.

Thank you Charles. Early on I had set the alignment (-.03) and text indent (.25") in the multilevel list. It is the indent at the paragraph in the Headings that keep on changing from .25" to .28". The difference of .03" is not so significant but still a puzzle.

That said, it is crucial that changes are made in the multilevel list dialog box (for more on the dialog box, see How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Word 2007 and Word 2010 | ShaunaKelly.com).
