Look at the samples I provided.
  1. An Active-X control should never work in a .docx file. Period.
  2. The two are the same document. One is saved as .docx, the other as .docm.
  3. The shape with a hyperlink works in both.
  4. Do not have your bookmark covering the entire TOC. Perhaps the title?
  5. Look at the code for my ActiveX control:

Code:
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
    ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("Home").Select
    Selection.Collapse
End Sub

For your purposes, you do not want the bookmark / target, to remain selected after you use the button.

In your sample document, it was not an ActiveX button but rather a hyperlinked shape. With Ctrl+Click it works.
If you have a screentip, it will give instruction to use Ctrl+Click on mouseover.

As far as I can tell, this works best if your shape is placed as in-line-with-text.

In General: I apologize to the forum. I have been difficult and confusing. I never should have combined two issues into one thread.

Henceforth, I have decided to follow Charles Kenyon's direction to just use [Alt+left arrow] to return to the top of document.

Moving on: On the new attachment (NewTrialToc.docx) WHY DO I have to press [Ctrl + click] on MY PC2 before getting the ToC to take me to document locations????? Why will the ToC not do as on MY PC1 which is simply displaying a finger/hand pointer while hovering over the ToC and not having to use the Ctrl key??????? I simply don't understand what is transposing from PC1 to PC2.

That is all I want to solve at the moment.

Thanks Again for any help.

This is a setting on your PC in Word.
File > Options > Advanced > Editing Options

Uncheck the option to use Ctrl+Click.

Yep. I sure wish the thought to check the preferences would have come to my mind. Oh well, another lesson learned.
