Some Autoshapes not inserting via VBA in Word 2003
Hello
Looking for help with two issues 1. I've been trying to extend the default 2003 Autoshape menu with shapes not included by default, e.g. a 12-pointed start (the default menu only has buttons for the 4, 5, 8, 16, 24 and 32-poited stars) Simply changing the code from the recorded '16'-pS to the '12'-pS gives an "2147417848 (80010108): This specified value is out of range" error. Code:
ActiveDocument.Shapes.AddShape(msoShape12pointStar, 60, 20, 72#, 72#).Select The same holds true for other Autoshapes that have no icon button in the 2003 default menu (frame, halfframe, decagon, tear ...) I have worked the default cliparts to insert like an Autoshapes (simple black lines, white body, no 3d, etc.), but the default cliparts don't inlcude all the missing shapes, and same Cliparts like the frame don't even have proper names just "AutoShape" with an ever varying number. For this "AutoShape " & i, a For loop set to a high number, and On Error Resume Next work-around the changing number problem, but the many number inclusions in the loop could pose a problem for other autoshapes as well. So its not an optimal solution 2. Also, is it possible via VBA or otherwise to create a custom button (incl. custom button face) with dropdown menu like those of the autoshape menus where textless buttons arrange in a net grid? Any help is much appreciated. Sincerely, Snazzy |

Consider saving your custom shapes as AutoText and using an AutoTextList field.
