Default mystery number in style definition

I'm trying to change the colour in a paragraph style; that's all. Word gives me the mysterious warning "The number must be between 1 and 600". What number? All I'm trying to do is set the custom colour as RGB 60,60,60

Advice welcome!

How are you making the change?
i.e., Are you using Modify Style > Font > Color within Word or are you using vba?

When typing in those boxes it is easy to add what you are typing to what is already in the box creating a number that is out of bounds unintentionally.
