Unable to Delete a Word 2000 Document
I have a Word 2000 document that gives me a "File In Use" message when I attempt to open it. Along with the document are several "~WRLxxxx.tmp" files. Attempts to delete any of these fail, so I saved the original document with a new name and can open that one without any problems. How do I delete the original document and its temp files? |

Restart the computer and see if that lets you delete the files that have been left behind.
In theory, just closing Word should suffice, but perhaps there is a remaining instance of winword.exe which prevents you from deleting the temporary files.
