Default I don't understand new formatting marks word has spontaneously added to my document

I have a large document in Word 2019 with numerous figures and tables. The headings are formatted using styles and until yesterday they both looked like this.
[Arrg - I see the images I inserted did not stay put. I have attached a docx that contains them.]

The table headers are still the same but, when I opened the doc this morning the Figure Headings have changed to this: [see attachment]

All the headings and the style definition have changed.
My problem is I don’t understand the Formatting Marks so I have no idea what has changed or how. I’d be grateful if someone can explain and advise me how to reverse this change.

How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum.

I am a volunteer and lazy. I do not intend to open your document to look at your screenshots. Sorry.

Your choice. It probably took you longer to type that than it would have to look at my doc. I can't help it if your website doesn't work properly.

You are the one who wants help from volunteers and want to make them do extra work to do it. Your choice.

This is not my website, nor is it Microsoft's. I do not work for Microsoft or the website.

Look, I am sorry if my posting made you cross. I am new to all this and am doing my best.

You didn't have to respond at all if it is so much bother. Leave it for someone who has kinder words to offer.

As it happens, I got an extemely helpful answer from the Microsoft Community forum so the problem is now solved.
