Post Table cell auto-shading when checkbox ticked.

I'm creating an inspection form which comprises a large Word table with pre-defined text, arranged in a column of cells with a checkbox in a separate cell adjacent to each. Is it possible, by clicking the checkbox, to automatically shade the cells containing the text and the corresponding checkbox cell?

Yes. It is possible, using macros. However, something like this is far easier in Excel.
If you want it in Word, wait and someone will supply a potential macro for you. Keep in mind, though, that you have no ability to make people using your form allow your macros to run.

If in Word, specify the type of checkbox you are using. I would expect it is a content control.

Thanks Charles - very much appreciated. The form is for my own personal use so first issue is easily overcome! As for the type of checkbox, I'm happy to use whichever is advised (Content control, Active X or form field) as other than the 'trigger' for the auto shading, their role is purely aesthetic.

Thanks once again and in advance to anyone who can help me!
