Icons too large when inserting an object
When I insert a PowerPoint file into a Word 2016 document using "Insert > Object > Object > Create from File," sometimes the icon and the filename below it look fine. Other times, they are too large, and the filename looks pixelated and is cut off. This seems to happen randomly; I can't see any pattern in when it happens and when it doesn't. I've searched various forums and the only solution I've seen is to reimage the computer (which I can't do; it's a secure work computer). Any suggestions?
p.s. -- When I do the above steps, I always browse to the file and then check the box "Display as icon" afterward. |

Just curious, but does the user need to be able to edit the embedded PowerPoint slides, or are they just getting inserted as some kind of reference (e.g., sounds like maybe appendix materials or figures)?
If they don't need to be edited, another option is to save the PPT slides as images and insert those. Either option is likely going to increase the file size and slow the doc down, so I'd only do that toward the end of the process. You can compress the images at the end, but not sure how much it will help. |
