Word custom proxy settings & stop re-downloading images when pasting
Is there a way to make MS Word use no proxy server when your proxy settings point to a .PAC file (in Control Panel -> Internet Options -> LAN Settings)?
Currently, I use a .PAC file that has different rules, including a "timeRange" rule that makes the browser use no proxy server during certain hours of the day. The problem is that Word is also using this file, but it fails to apply this rule. As a consequence, when I paste various articles from the web, all the images in these articles are not pasted at all (only the text gets pasted), and that's because Word is trying to download them using a proxy server that should not be used during that time interval. So, I'm looking for a way to instruct Word to stop using a proxy server, even if there is a .PAC file setting in place. There was also a second question about re-downloading images when pasting (as in the subject), but in the meantime I already found out the answer to that question. Thank you! Alex |

I'm guessing you know this, but it seems worth asking. Are you using the special paste option to keep the source formatting? (sorry just checking)
