How to place an image placeholder that scales the image to the full frame size in a template
I'm trying to set-up a template with an image placeholder that, when you insert the image, scales the image to the full size of the placeholder. I tried a table with fixed settings, but the image never scales to the full frame size. It scales, but not to the complete with of the frame. (I used odd dimensions, 29.7 cm wide and 10.5 cm high on a landscape page)
Is there any way to accomplice this? Help is super welcome. I've been Googling for hours/days now |

I think you will need a macro to set the size explictly. Do you want to maintain aspect ratio and potentially crop it or stretch the image to fit the two dimensions?

Thanks Guessed, I do want to maintain aspect ratio and have the image fill the complete frame. So depending on the size of the image it will always crop out a part of it.

Images in Word will adapt to their environment when they exceed the width between the current margins. When they are smaller than the current width between the margins they are inserted at their original size.
If you want to insert a larger image and set a particular width then you could insert a frame and insert the image in line. Microsoft all but hides the existence of frames which are a kind of text box, but unlike text boxes are in the text layer of the document. You can add the Format Frame command to the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) from the All Commands group and use it to add a frame with the width you require. Right click the frame and set the frame height to Auto so that it will adapt to the height of your image.
