Question Using the Heading in the text

Hi,
I'm creating a templete and I want to use few of my heading in the text.

how can i link them together so that everytime the heading changes it will also change in the text?




as example:


4.the heading
.
.
.

as you can see in chapter 4.the heading, blah blah blah

This is called a cross reference.

Go to Insert > Cross Reference to add one to your document. Looking at your example, you will need to use this dialog twice (once to add the heading number, and once to add the text).

Thanks for answering I tried it but when I change the heading and update the cross refrence it won't change!

Post a sample doc which includes your Cross References and I will take a look to find out what is going wrong with it.

I made the bookmarks myself and it was fixed.
