Comparing two documents but where to save?
Hi, this is my first post here.I'm a novelist, and I recently received my novel back from my editor (a copy edit.) I want to see the changes she's made, and I've managed to do this by using the Compare function, with the original document I sent her and the copy edit version she returned.
I thought that I had saved the changes I made (using Accept and Reject change), but I've discovered after 150 pages of work that the changes weren't saved. Can someone please suggest a method whereby I can compare these two documents, and make and save changes to the copy edit version? Or at least a new document that I can then compare with the copy edit? I've tried everything I can think of, and used Google to find the answer, to no avail. |

My editor sent me a mark-up version, which solved the problem.

Hi Edlong,
For future reference, you can change which tracked changes are viewable in the Review tab at the top of the screen (see first screen shot). You can also temporarily show only changes and comments from specific reviewers (see second screen shot). It should be noted that these are only changes to the viewed screen, not the actual modified or final content in the document. |
