How to edit add-ons panel in word 2010 created in word 2000
We created our own normal with macroses a few year ago. But in word 2010 which we uses now we can not edit this panel. For example, to add new item in this menu. Maybe you know is it possible to edit this panel or we can use only ribbon interface and use only own panel?

You will need Word 2003 or earlier to edit the toolbars. If you save in Word's later XML format you can add a ribbon Customize the Office Ribbon (It doesn't take rocket science)

In theory, you can edit it using vba, but I've never attempted it. I use Word 2003 to edit such toolbars. This is difficult because it requires that dotm formatted documents be saved in .dot format, losing current features, and then converted back, reintroducing those.
I join Graham in urging you to explore custom Ribbon modification (not through the User Interface, but through XML). Greg Maxey's page is the best place to start. His site has many more pages on particular issues with Ribbon customization. If you want a reference book, I recommend RibbonX: Customizing the Office Ribbon by Robert Martin, Ken Puls, and Teresa Hennig. |
