Default Print preview scrolling

Dear all

In word 2013 (and newer versions) there is an issue with the print preview (at least in my opinion). When scrolling through the pages, the page change is very smooth. This means that one page fades out and the next page fades in. This does not allow a pixel precise comparison between the pages.

This was not the case in the very old versions. You were able to compare the pages very accurately.

Currently, I do this by creating a pdf, and then comparing the pages in Acrobat reader. But that is very complicated.

Is there a solution for this?

If you're trying to compare two documents, why are you not using Word's Compare Tool?

I don't want to make a comparison of the content but compare layout things. Are the tables correctly formatted and in the same position etc. And my question was not about a comparison of two documents but two pages in the same document in the print preview. But anyway, thank you for your feedback.

You might try zooming out so that multiple pages are displayed simultaneously.

Ok, obviously the 'compare tool' has some kind of functionality to compare pages in the same document, even for layout issues. But what I need is not a tool, but a simple scroll function in the print preview without 'fade in/out effects' - as it is available in acrobat reader (and the older word versions).

To compare 'pixel precise' this is not enough. A snappy switching between pages in the print preview section is what I need.

So why are you not using Word's Compare Tool? What you're after is as simple as having Word toggle the comparison document between the Original Markup and Final Markup views - all without having to act like you're watching tennis on-screen.
