Default Insert link to email in MS Word

hi

I am trying to insert and email link via hyperlink in a word document so once clicked it opens the person email account to send a new email to the address I specify.

is there a way I can insert a table into the body of the email so user can just complete the required fields?

thanks

Yes. If I were doing this, I would use Mapped Content Controls for the fields. You can insert an email link by Insert > HyperLink.
Repeating Data Using Document Properties Content Controls and Other Mapped Content Controls

Here is a temporary link to a sample file.
Dropbox - Email Link using Mapped Content Control for subject.docx - Simplify your life

Provided you have Word configured to do so, simply typing an email address, the pressing the spacebar or the enter key will turn it into a hyperlink. See File|Options|Proofing>AutoCorrect Options>>AutoFormat As You Type>Internet and network paths with hyperlinks. It's not apparent what this has to do with typing an email though.

To get the same effect (and to insert a table into the email body) using Outlook, you must have that program configured to send the email using either the HTML or Rich Text format. See under Format Text>Format.

Either way, you don't need Content controls or the like.

Paul,

I don't know if you looked at the sample I provided. The Content Control automatically adds the subject to the already present email hyperlink field.

That may be so, but the basic functionality to generate an email from a hyperlink doesn't require it.
