How to address a letter to 10,000 different people at once.
EDIT: Title of this thread should've been "How does one address a letter to 10,000 different people at once?" Sorry, this isn't a how-to, I messed my words up.
Hello, I run a small independent insurance agency after retiring from a much larger corporation, and am trying to mail a letter to all of my former clients. The letter is completed, but it is not within my time limits to go back through and type each persons name into the letter. I already have a .docx with everyones name typed out and in order. Is there any way to make word (or any of the office 2007 programs) place each persons name in designated points of the letter, and then print them out? I am unsure of where to begin, or if a process like this has a name that could be searched; I wandered for a few hours through this site and didn't stumble upon what I was looking for. In case my goal still isn't clear, I essentially want to learn of some way to transpose many thousands of names that I already have in a list into the proper spots in a template of a letter, obviously with each name getting its own letter to be printed out on. I don't have time to do this individually because I'm just starting off and only have one other employee to manage the place if I'm wrapped up. Thank you for solutions, constructive discussion, and your time spent reading. |
