how can you have the publication number of a document sequentially increase (single page document) based on the number of pages printed?

Also How can I get it to print with a bar code (code 39) or even better a QR code?

Here is what I would like it to look like, but as I print the Palt number would change 2,3,4 and so on

If you use this it inserts a Content Control in the document. I also inserts a document variable. You can use that variable in the QR code.
The variable is varSerialNo.

(If you use the macros rather than the Add-In, the variable name is "VarNum."

I've changed your question to remove the word "page" from it. The "page number" in Word parlance for your document would be "1."
