It's what I explained above and illustrated in the document I attached. Sometimes I need to cite the same source multiple times in the text. The first time I reference it, I use Insert Endnote. On subsequent references, I use the Cross-reference feature. For those "additional" references, the superscript is a field and a hyperlink, but it jumps to the text making the first reference, not to the endnote.
