Custom picture bullets
In Word 2007, you can create bullets using pictures:
What I want to do, however, is to delete old (or changed) images from this dialog. They aren't stored in the normal.dot ... thus far, I have been unable to determine just where Word stores this info. Can anyone help??? |

Numbering and bullet formats are stored in a separate file called ListGal.dat. I'm not sure if that applies to picture bullets as well, but you can try deleting ListGal.dat and see if it resets the options in the Picture Bullet dialog box.
Do the following: Exit Word. You will find ListGal.dat in your Windows user profile path. You can search for the file, but you must display hidden files and folders first. Delete it once you have found it, and then restart Word.

Bullets
No, it wasn't that, unfortunately. I'm still searching.

Then you probably can't get rid of selected formats in the Picture Bullets dialog box.
Newer versions of Word have a different interface for Picture Bullets, so I can't do any testing of my own, unfortunately (see screen shot).
