The inserted image shows my page border, the ones I marked in yellow indicate the space difference, the top margin is bigger than the bottom margin, their heights are different, how do I adjust it so the top and bottom margins are equal sized?




I also attached a screenshot of the settings so you guys could have a look.


I tried adjusting the top and bottom margins but it always seems to be unequally sized

The margins are determined by what the current printer driver allows. Most printers do not allow printing to the edge of the page, and will display white space around the edges.

how do I fix it? i really want symmetrical borders

You can't fix what the driver won't allow. Make the margins larger to match the largest one, or set the margins all to zero and ignore the warning to fix the margins, but then don't be surprised when the printer cuts off the unprintable area from your document.

The screen shot you have is of the margins screen for the borders--you want the margins for the page.

Go to Layout > Margins > Custom Margins to adjust the page margins.

For your printer you may need the Word page margins to be different top and bottom so that you can have the margins be equal when you print out.
