Hi Paul, I tried that, it makes no difference 04:12 is still formatted automatically as 04:12:00 AM.

Willem

Double-Huh!
This has nothing to do with the original post to which this was the answer. Apparently you want to format a Date or Time field. I've moved this to a new thread. If you are trying to do something else, please let us know.

Any update? Was my guess right? If so, did the links help?

Hi Charles,
No, my query was regarding copying a table from MS Word and pasting in MS Excel, where it automatically formats cells and gives me wrong results. I had cells containing for instance 4:12 (text) and it auto formats to 04:12 AM (time format). But I managed to resolve it by copying to Notepad++ first and then to Excel, so this thread can be closed.

SO why did you hijack the thread you posted in, with something totally unrelated to the preceding discussion and quite unrelated to the problem you were apparently trying to resolve?
