Default Too Many Pages

I have a book manuscript that was created in Microsoft Word as part of a monthly subscription to Microsoft Office.

I have been working on it for quite a while, it is a historical city directory, just short of 400 actual pages, 7" x 10" finished size. Word count is 275,762.

I was able to complete the book and save it as a PDF to download to amazon. After getting the proof copies I found additional errors and need to correct them. When I try to access the document, however, it says there are too many pages and defaults to 123 or 17 pages.

I was able to retrieve a copy (unformatted) and moved it to Google docs for saving. I also paid for a program to take it from PDF back to word and have that on google docs but it has severe formatting issues.

Never expecting this from word, I have newspaper stories coming out about my book and had to set it live errors (which is why I am Sad Panda )

I did not see that I was in compatibility mode and it is saved in docx format.

Please help!

Thank you in advance.

I think someone would need access to the document to work out what is going wrong with it. I think the "too many pages" message is misleading and unlikely to be the actual problem.

Are you able to load the document to this forum or a cloud location like OneDrive so someone can take a look and check if the file is corrupted in some way?

And were you going to share that location or keep it a secret?

This seems like it might be a result of a recent Word/Office update, as it has been reported elsewhere. See, for example:
"You have exceeded the amount of pages allowed in Word" - Microsoft Community
Exceeded maximum number of pages on Word - Microsoft Community

Default Address

Hi

I am sorry, I don't know the address. My daughter and I share an account and I don't really know how to access it. She has it logged in, I just choose to save it there.

Is it attached to an email address? I have that.

When she comes home from work I will find out.

Thank you.

Often if you right-click on it, you can get the share link.
