Default Custom page size - Page color not covering entire page when converting to PDF

I'm trying to use 8.63" width and 11.25" height, with a black page. When I convert my document to .pdf, there's a margin of white around the sides and bottom.

Files attached. How do I fix this?

I downloaded the file and PDFd it using the Word PDF converter. I got a thin white bar along the right margin, but that was it.

What PDF converter are you using?

If using the Save As dialog box in Word (F12) and choosing PDF for file format does not work, try adding one of those PDF converters which install as virtual printers. PrimoPDF would be one example. Convert to PDF by printing the document to the PrimoPDF printer.

Note that even if you are able to successfully create a PDF without margins, most physical printers can't print to the very edge of the page.

I just tried PrimoPDF and it converts the entire page to white. If I go to print options and choose to print the background color, then I have a white edge on the right side of every page that has pictures.... I'll reply again and attach such a page.

This sizing is required by KDP for printing with bleed.

Indeed, the option to print background colors and images must be selected. When I do that here, I do not get the result in your example PDF. Instead, the black background color extends into the margins, even on the page where the picture is.

Yours has a white line at the top.

The only white space I see at the top is the indication of where the first page ends and the second page begins.

I am not seeing a white line in my example file.

What I do see is some vertical spacing added between the pages in the PDF. I would expect that to happen.

(Side-note: I apologize if you are seeing duplicates of my reply here. For my post to show up, I had to reply to your original message.)

Somehow it got totally broken. I tried uploading that PDF to KDP and my content was 1/3 off the page toward the top. I gave the goal of black pages and just went white; no bleed to deal with.

Thanks for trying.
