Issue in word 2016 - Word 2010 document prints with different pagination
Hi
In my application we create a document and its opened in MS Word as type letter to print. When we were using MSWord 2010 the document is opened in a single page and printed. But after we upgraded to MS Word 2016 the same document is opening in 2 pages. This is creating huge issue. How document of type letter in word 2016 opens the same way as word 2010?? Pls assist Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 12-06-2019 at 07:03 AM. Reason: Modify title to give better info about question |

It would be easier to diagnose the issue with a copy of the document.
Display non printing characters. How many appear on the second page? Does the document use default or custom styles? If default then it's possible that there is a slight difference in the default styles between 2010 and 2016, one that results in slightly different line spacing--if there is just one or two lines on the second page, that seems likely. If possible, post a copy of the template, please. |

Most likely, you've changed more than just the Office version. A change in printer drivers (e.g. because you're using a different printer) will also affect the layout, because Word uses information from the active driver to optimise the page.
On Word 2016, justification is also handled differently from Word 2010. Another possibility, is that the document was saved with the 'automatically update document styles' parameter set and it's now getting different Style definitions from Word 2016.

Word 2013 introduced a new layout engine in Word that gives slightly different spacing. That is still in use with Word 2019.
When you open your document, is it showing in the title bar as being in compatibility mode? |

You don't 'share' templates that way; you upload a copy via the paperclip symbol. More useful, though, would be a copy of the document itself (delete anything sensitive). Did you check the the 'automatically update document styles' setting? See under Developer|Document Template>Templates.
