Comparative instructions/menu descriptions across Word versions
Although I don't consider myself and expert on MS Word, I regularly have to help grad students with Word issues. (I'm the reference and instruction librarian for my grad school.) Today, a person wanted to know how to remove page numbers and headings from front matter. I found a good article on this on the web. However, one of the menu items it says to use is not in that menu choice in Word 2019. Is there a place to go look that will give comparative instructions for stuff on which someone at MS decided for who knows what reason to move something from Design to Layout, for example. It would have helped if I could have found something that said, "here are all the menu changes from Word 2016/2010/etc. to Word 2019." Is anyone aware of something like that? Thanks.

I am not aware of anything like that.
I have a web page on the Ribbon tabs where I show changes as I become aware of them. Try to find keyboard shortcuts for the features. Those tend to not change. Often they will show up as tooltips when you put the mouse pointer over a particular button on the Ribbon. Keyboard shortcuts in Word - Office Support |
