Default Unifying document's format - margins and indents

Word 2010... How can I get a uniform format (margins and indents, etc.) for a long document that has pasted in pages with different formatting? I "block out" (wrong words) this long document and set the margins and indents I want, but the pasted in pages retain their own different formating. Thanks for any help. Elder

Chances are good that your problem is with paragraph indent settings rather than margins. See Margins and Indents in Word.
Indents are for each paragraph and often contained in styles.

When I deal with pasted text, I often simply paste as plain text and redo the formatting.

If your pasted content includes section breaks then it will introduce different page setups into your document (along with styles). Without seeing your before and after docs it is hard to give you focused info on how to fix it but pasting in as anything other than plain text can introduce inconsistent formats if you don't pay attention.

Default Yes~

That's what I've been doing all over the place. The question is, is there a way to fix it all at once?

Cheers Don

Here is how to do it all at once. You are not going to like it.
  1. Select all.
  2. Copy
  3. Paste as plain text in a new document.
  4. Start formatting.

Edit to the third step: A new document containing all your paragraph and character styles.
