Table of content to include a page number comprising Section and page number
I have a MS Word document that I am dividing into sections. Sections are A, B, C, D etc. Each section starts with page 1.
I have managed to number the pages as A-1, A-2, A-3, .... B-1, B-2, B-3, ... C-1, C-2 ... etc. However, I now want the Table of Contents to include the pages as A-1, B-1, C-1, etc. In a few cases I have Heading 2 which is included in the ToC, so the page number should then be (for example) C-4 against that heading. Is this possible? If so, how do I do this? Thanks. Allen |

The prefix must come from the Heading autonumbering. For each section, you go into Insert > Page Number > Format Page Numbers and include that Heading number.
The TOC will pick this up automatically.
