Thank you, Stefan and Charles. The option to apply the section breaks to the entire combined document needs to be done after all documents are combined. I did that and fooled around a bit with it and it worked. An earlier attempt to do the same resulted in failure. This might have happened because I also attempted to insert page numbers into the text document before combining. This time, I skipped that part and it worked. However, a few of the endnores in the footer area were duplicated. For example, a normal-sized number might be preceded by one or two smaller sized numbers. It seems that I can simply delete these extra numbers.
I now need to number all the pages as instructed by the publisher. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Sorry, I mistakenly cross-posted - didn't mean to. I'll correct this before preceding. George |
