Default Maintaining Workspace From Comparing Documents

When comparing documents (on a large display?), the program will show the "Compared Document" in the middle of the display, and a "Original Document" window tiled above a "Revised Document" window on the right side of the display.

There is very valuable functionality with this workspace.
The problem is that when I save the 'Compared Document', close the program, and reopen the file, I am unable to have the right side windows ( "Original Document" window tiled above a "Revised Document") displayed at all.

How do I turn that display back on?
