Selection box behind image
Hello All,
I am new to this forum. Lately, I came across an issue while using Ms Word (MS Office 365 Business). I pasted an image (graph from excel) into ms word and now everytime I click on the image, a selection box appears above the actual image. I tried to align them together but didn't succeed. A prumpt reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Note: Screenshot is attached and Word file are attached. Last edited by abidachini; 10-11-2019 at 09:19 AM. |

And this is a problem for you because?
If you are just curious, I don't care to try to investigate. You can do that. If you want help from me, attach an actual document. (Others here would probably appreciate it as well.) Sorry, I'm in grumpy old man mode. |

Hello Charles. Yes, it is a problem for the layout of the rest of the document. No, I am not just curious (Your assumption is wrong, sorry). I have attached the actual page. The selection box will appear if the image is doubled clicked. Thanks

If you click the Page Layout tab, then click the Selection Pane tab in the ribbon, you will be able to see the ‘content’ of your document.
You may need to drag the Selection Pane box across to the left to open it completely. You have a Chart and two Text Boxes. |

I hope that Moonshine's analysis helps. I have no idea how the text boxes would have gotten there.

Hi Moonshine, I am very grateful for the reply but how do I get rid of it or correct it without deleting the chart?
Note: By turnin it off, the whole chart disappears. |

Hi Everyone, I just corrected it by ungrouping the image. I still don't how this issue arose in the 1st place but I guess that's not improtant to me right now. Thanks everyone
Charles Kenyon, please be kind when someone comes with a problem here, being ghrumpy doesn't help the person who comes here with the hope of help. take care Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 10-14-2019 at 07:02 AM. |

Sorry for the grumpiness. I thought I was being kind by responding and suggesting attaching the document. I see you've done that. I'm glad you solved the problem. I'm not seeing exactly what you are, in that the textbox is actually under the chart which is superimposed when I opened your document. The textbox 6 is actually a caption for Figure 2. It should be grouped with Figure 2. Here it is shown with its contents. It was behind your chart when I opened the document and I moved it forward. Using the selection pane, I was able to select it and pressing delete removes it. Note that Textbox 10 is the caption for your chart. It should remain grouped with the chart. |
