Find/Replace Results in CAPS
I have attempted to find this in the forum to no avail. When I use Find/Replace, the replaced word is formatted All CAPS. I attempted to format the replacement word with 'Not All Caps' without any luck.
Thanks in advance for your assistance. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 09-26-2019 at 07:41 PM. Reason: Mark as solved |

Could you perhaps attach a sample document with the problem?
How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum. In the meantime, the following may help you see what is happening: Word's Reveal Formatting Codes Click on a word where the problem appears and press Shift+F1. The pane that opens should tell you more about the formatting of that word. |

Thanks for the initial guidance. For a more detailed explanation....... Sample paragraph before attempting Find/Replace: After automated query (and research, when necessary) is complete, staff updates and non-auth submissions are considered validated in the NXT front end. New records and any updated records are then exported from the NXT front-end to the Vesta production system. Find/Replace Settings: Settings include: Not Bold, Not Italics, Not CAPS, etc. Results: After automated query (and research, when necessary) is complete, staff updates and non-auth submissions are considered validated in the VESTA front end. New records and any updated records are then exported from the VESTA front-end to the Vesta production system. Summary: The word 'NXT' was to be replaced with 'Vesta'. The results are 'NXT' was replaced with 'VESTA' (all caps). The settings in Find/Replace as shown above were Vesta with only the 'V' being capitalized. Thus my frustration! There are too many entries if the word NXT to perform this manually. All assistance is greatly appreciated. |

As Charles mentioned, a sample document would be very useful, as there are a number of possible explanations. To go with the simplest explanation, do the following:
Open the Find/Replace screen. Immediately under the Find What box, is there a line that says Options: Match Case? If so, then there's the problem. Select the More button in the middle left of the screen, and deselect the Match Case checkbox. |

Try attaching a sample document with the problem. See link I originally added.

I have reviewed the link to posting images to the forum and do not find a Paper Clip Icon anywhere.

How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum.
When you start typing your reply you are in a little window. Underneath that window are two buttons. One says "Post Ouick Reply." The one on the right says "Go Advanced." Click the second one. That opens a larger window with more buttons/icons at the top of the window. One of those is a paper clip. Use that. I assume you used it when you included the screenshot earlier. This time, use it to attach a sample file with the problem. That is, if you want anyone here to be able to more than throw out wild guesses. Pictures of both of those buttons were in the thread How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum. |

Again, not a screenshot, a Word file that has the problem.

Sorry for the confusion on my part. I have attached an example of the document I am working on. It contains a paragraph from the primary document I am working on and represents perfectly the issue I am experiencing across all Word documents.
For clarity, I am using O365 Office. |
