Is it possible to show more Word styles in the ribbon?
Hi everyone,
When I got to the home tab of Word, I get the styles pane in the Home tab of the ribbon. This shows me 14 styles such as Heading 1, Heading 2, Normal, etc. However, I have 17 styles I use, so three of them aren't visible - unless I click on the drop-down arrow. Is there any way to show more than the 14 so that I don't need to keep clicking the arrow? Maybe by making each one of them smaller? Thanks in advance! The number of quick styles displayed is largely a function of available space on the ribbon. Why not add a tab to the ribbon and display the styles and nothing else there?

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work. Besides, I could really do with other stuff on the custom tab - not just my styles.

PS Ooooh, it DID work in terms of the amount of styles, sorry! But yeah, I still need to get the other stuff on my ribbon.

So that it looks like this (but ideally with all my styles):

I think the only way to achieve what you want - to show more ‘styles’ in the Ribbon, is to use a bigger monitor/screen/display with a high resolution.
You appear to be already using a large widescreen to show a greater selection of your styles. The larger screen allows the Ribbon to be expanded horizontally, to show more content. This content would be hidden in dropdown menus on smaller screens/lower resolutions. My examples below show Word 2016 on a laptop with a 15.6 inch screen, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (125% scale) and the same laptop connected to a 55 inch TV with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. You might be able to see a little more if you have a System Display Scale set above 100% and lowering it down from say 125% to 100% will show everything (globally) smaller on your screen but should effectively expand the Ribbon in Word to show a little more. The global effect may not be suitable for all applications and your eyesight!. |
