Crop embedded Excel Document
I have embedded an excel document in word and I have deleted some rows on the excel document but the object is still huge in word (as per the attached). Is there a way of cropping it? |

The Crop option in the Format tab comes into play when an image/photo is in the document.
The Excel document in your page is an object and the Crop option isn’t seen. To get round this, right click in the Quick access Toolbar (QAT) > Customize Quick Access Toolbar > Choose commands from > All commands > Scroll down to Crop Picture/Crop Tools > select one > Add > OK. Now, when the excel object is clicked and the ‘handles’ are showing, you can click the newly created Crop Picture/Crop Tools shortcut and opt to crop and crop as desired. Click the image below to see a short video of how it’s done. |

If you right-click the embedded Excel and choose EDIT, rather than open, you may be able to drag the handles (the bottom middle handle for example) to resize the embedded object. This works best if the object is formatted as in-line with text, rather than any of the floating options (in front of text, behind text, square with text, etc.). You may have to right-click the embedded Excel and choose format (object?) to see these options.
